Ardnamurchan Charters. Will take you out to see some whales, dolphins, porpoises, eagles, basking sharks, otters seals and much more. They take a big interest in not disturbing any wildlife that they see so well worth a look. They have a few different boats and this is a great way to visit a few scenic islands and beaches in the West Coast of Scotland. Based in Ardnamurchan but will pick up on request.

Glencoe Visitor Centre. Surrounded by the mountains of Glencoe this visitor centre is a great place for finding out a bit more about Glencoe's remarkable history. Also includes shop, cafe, and picnic area and is open most of the year. Located past Glencoe village and take a right turn on the A82. Also has a ranger service with some activities provided every month like nature trails through Glencoe.

Nevis Range. A great ski centre which has diversified into Mountain biking. They hold world mountain biking championships there on the downhill track they have made. If you do not want to ski or mountain bike then you can just take the cable car up the mountain and have a meal or coffee at the top. Breathtaking views to Ben Nevis, Glencoe and various munros. Whats even better is that you can see people cycle down the steep mountain bike path which is scary enough. They have some great ski slopes in season and they also have a dry ski slope. Our kids love it....

The Nevis Centre. An Aird, Fort William. Located near MacDonald’s and Safeway’s, opposite the car park used for the local market on Thursdays. Great for kids and adults alike. There is a large play area ("Going Wild") for children under ten with a bouncy castle and slides. Test your skills at American style 10 pin bowling with the "Neon Sessions" after 4pm, take part in one of the classes if you’re feeling energetic, or watch one of the fantastic shows which take place throughout the year.

Active-High Just beside Nevis Range and its Gondola, these are the only Dual paraglider flights with cable car access in the whole of Britain. Climbing and Mountaineering for groups, families and individuals is also available.

Linnhe Marine Boat Hire Take the A828 towards Oban. Linnhe Marine is situated at the end of a single-track road on the right, on the sharp bend just before you reach the village of Appin. Family run sports centre where you can hire boats or get tuition as needed. There is a selection of motorboats, rowing boats and yachts. Again a very scenic location with the pretty Island of Shuna an interesting little Island just up from Lismore. Castle Stalker is just next door as well.

Lettershuna Riding Stables Just next door to Linnhe Marine, on the A828 towards Oban. Two standards of ride available. When the tide is out it is possible to trek on a pony or horse to Castle Stalker. Our kids have gone riding there a couple of times and had to muck out the stables much to their disgust.

Vertical Descents  As seen on TV! The biggest canyoning and funyakking centre in Britain. Para glide above the Nevis mountain range or jump down waterfalls – lots of fun and something totally different! They now also offer paintballing! Will fit in with your plans and will take you in a variety of places in Glencoe from up the waterfall at Inchree to kayaking in Glen Nevis.

Monster Activities Fort Augustus Outdoor activities for all. White-water carting, Kayaking, Abseiling, Windsurfing and Motor Boat Hire, just to name a few! About an hour away on the Inverness road but actually a great scenic drive around Loch Ness. Will fit in with your plans and lots of different outdoor activities for all age groups and preferences. Might even tire them out!

Inverary Jail. One of our kids favourite places. Mixes historical experiences with humour and a bit of  excitement. Inveraray is the ancient capital of Argyll and a scenic hours drive from here. Needless to say getting locked up in the old jail is our kids favourite bit. Lots of cafe's for a coffee nearby. A wee drive around Loch Fyne is well worth it afterwards.

Stramash Activities Based in Oban this group will take you on organised trips like Forest Adventures, Kayak and Gorge rides, Mini Archery, Canoe trips and much more. Particularly good for the 5-17 year old age group.

Ice factor, Kinlochleven The UK’s premiere indoor mountain activity centre with the biggest indoor ice climbing facility in the world, articulated rock climbing wall and bouldering hall. Also Outdoor Clothing shop and café. Pretty good for honing the climbing skills before tackling the real things outside in Glencoe or Ben Nevis.

Glencoe Mountain Chairlift Basic Café at the foot of the hill, with amazing views from the chairlift. The Glencoe Mountain resort is on two local ski resorts. The other is Nevis Range. Glencoe is open as long into the spring as snow allows and if just want to try the cable car for a great view of Glencoe then thats fine too. Thrilling views of Glencoe area.

Glencoe Photography. If you fancy combining a walk up a hill to be shown scenic viewpoints with a good photography lesson then this is ideal.  A trip to Glencoe Village or a casual walk up Glen Nevis or even a visit to the top of the Pap of Glencoe, then some lessons on to take great photos of the view!
